The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), South Sudan Country Office, is seeking to hire a qualified consultant to provide technical assistance to train Motorcycle Ambulance Riders Duty station: Juba with training location being in: Rumbek in Lakes state Kuajok in Warrap state Wau in WBeG state And Aweil inNBeG state Reporting to: Unit Head: Maternal and Neonatal Health UNICEF South Sudan Country Office,
Juba. Duration of Contract: Three months (12Weeks) Fees Level: Corresponding to L1.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Train 14 motorcycle ambulance riders how to ride and bike with or without a patient/passengers in the side carrier,( 6 in lakes state, 4 in Warrap state 2 in WBeG state and 2 in NBeG state). 2. Train the 14 riders on basic mechanics and preventive maintenance (e.g. how to maintain and service) the motorcycles ambulances. 3. Train the 14 riders on recording keeping (how to record/update information in a simple logbook). 4. Assist the riders to develop action plan for their motorcycle ambulances to be executed at their respective health facilities. 5. Conduct follow-up on-site visit to trained riders to provide further technical support after the conduct of the training 6. Provide UNICEF with a final technical report on the training and follow-up on-site visits with recommendations to County/SmOH and UNICEF.
Deliverables: 1. 14 riders trained and are able to ride and maintain motorcycle ambulance and keep/update motorcycle logbook. 2. Final technical reports that captures results of the consultancy, including planned activities of supported health facilities detailing specific roles of the key players to ensure functionality of motorcycle ambulance as component of maternal, neonatal and child health service delivery. 3. Signed MoU/declaration of support to the initiative by all key players at the state during the closing program-cum launching of the project.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 4. Certified trainer of ambulance motorcycles. 5. Previous experience on training riders of motorcycle ambulance, preferably in South Sudan.
Competencies required: 1. Knowledge of English and Arabic is a must. 2. Ability to work in a diverse and challenging environment and poor living conditions.
