Chemonics International, an international consulting firm, seeks an experienced chief of party and technical specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded civil society /government strengthening project in Tanzania. Responsibilities include:
--Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction
--Serve as key liaison with USAID, government counterparts, and local partners
--Manage and supervise the work of project personnel and subcontractors
--Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate
--Collaboratively create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
--Oversee project work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
Qualifications:
--Advanced degree in public administration, management, law, or a related field
--Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience designing, implementing, and managing civil society strengthening, anti-corruption, or local governance projects; USAID experience strongly preferred
--Demonstrated experience interacting with government agencies, host-county governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies
--Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
--Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context in Tanzania or East Africa strongly preferred
--Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
--Fluency in English required; proficiency in Swahili desired
