Coca-Cola Director, Electronics Engineering

The Director of Electrical Systems will lead all electrical development and sustaining activities, including directing the internal development team, managing development partners and directing contract resources. Responsibilities include the full life cycle process, from driving clear requirements, to monitoring research, participating in design reviews and FMEA prototyping, as well as supervising testing. The Director Electrical Systems ensures that all development practices are in compliance with company’s best practices policies and procedures and defines new best practices, policies and procedures when the existing policies are deficient. This position is also responsible for tracking and maintaining all records and metrics.

The Director of Electrical Systems will be responsible for developing, maintaining and delivering an overall technology roadmap for core common components, as well as working in conjunction with Product Management and other technical disciplines to ensure that the technology roadmap aligns with the needs of the other technical disciplines and the needs of the business This roadmap is the key communication mechanism for the business, development partners, and other technical disciplines to clearly communicate the timing, features and dependencies of the hardware development team. The Director of Electrical Systems will be responsible for executing complex electrical designs that are tightly coupled with mechanical systems and imbedded controls.

The Director of Electrical Systems is responsible for technical supplier relationships for specific equipment platforms and for specific customer requirements. Leads innovation, development of equipment, processes and technical systems for the Coca-Cola businesses. Develops strategies and technical development plans to ensure competitive advantage for the company in quality, cost, technical performance, and regulatory compliance. Executes technology commercialization plans appropriately to support initiatives. Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams and management. Manages and develops the team to deliver against business objectives.

Additionally, candidate will:

Identify the appropriate electrical system architecture based on the requirements and design elements contained in a system specification

Record requirements in a requirements document using use cases

Maintain and evolve requirements documents based on evolving system requirements and industry trends and technologies

Analyze risk and report problems in meeting system requirements

Provide supporting information to the engineers to aid in the creation of a system requirement specification

Assist Design and Development engineers with the creation of detailed subsystem design specifications

Lead the review process for defining electrical system architecture and requirements documents.

Support electrical system requirements validation process. Ensure the overall integrity of the electrical system design and implementation and validate against the system specification

Participate in the system specification review process to ensure system requirements can be translated into valid design requirements

Build and maintain technology roadmap consistent with overall program roadmap. The roadmap should include research projects, configuration management issues and clearly show dependencies on hardware

Initiate, manage and deliver common electrical system development projects leveraging internal resources, development partners and contractors in accordance with established best practices for electrical systems development using professional project management techniques to manage risk and predict and communicate outcomes to cross functional teams and management

Provide direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills. Provide leadership for the development of engineering skills across all equipment and component platforms for all aspects of Customer Care

8-10 yrs of High Speed (Logic and Bus Design)

8-10 yrs of Embedded Controls

4-5yrs of working with firmware using C or C++

4-6 yrs of CANopen experience specifically in regards to Motor Controls and Embedded control systems.

Managing Technical Supplier Relationships: Knowledge of and the ability to influence technical relationships for design improvement, manufacturing efficiencies, and quality management
