Applications are invited for the following vacancies with Nuclear Electricity Project (NEP) - Ministry of Energy:
1. TEAM LEADER, PRE-FEASIBILITY STUDY - (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to Director, Technical Services; the Team Leader will be responsible for developing road map including activities, action plan, budgets and timelines for the prefeasibility study. Coordinating data collection, study team; team of assessors, ensuring Nuclear Power program is covered; assessing The IAEA recommendation; Supervising and developing terms of reference for the team of assessors, and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• Master of Science in Physics or Nuclear Science
• Registration with relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage
• Training and Experience in Nuclear Science is an added advantage
• At least ten(10) years working experience, five(5) which must be at a senior position in technical function in reputable institution
• Leadership, communication and team building Skills
• Sound and current knowledge of ICT
2. INTERNAL AUDITOR - (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to Manager, Finance; the Technical Services Auditor will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational risk, developing internal controls, audit policies, procedures, and internal controls; coordinating the external auditors, audit committee and performing secretariat function and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• A Bachelors’ degree from a recognised institution
• Qualified Accountant (CPA-K or it’s equivalent)
• Registered member of ICPAK or recognised professional body
• Certified information systems Auditor(CSIA) or Certified Internal Auditor(CIA)
• IT skills with working knowledge of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS)
• At least five (5) years working experience in Senior management level
3. FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Finance; the Financial Accountant will be responsible for checking the accounts in conformity with IAS/IFRS, preparing payments to suppliers, ensuring completion and submission of the statutory returns, preparing board papers, responding, developing and implementing strategic and operational risk, developing internal controls, audit policies, procedures, and internal controls; coordinating the external auditors, audit committee and performing secretariat function and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• A Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance from recognised institution
• Qualified Accountant (CPA-K or it’s equivalent)
• Registered member of ICPAK or recognised professional body
• At least six (6) years working experience in relevant field
4. PROCUREMENT OFFICER - (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Finance; the Procurement Officer will be responsible for developing procurement policies and procedures, coordinating purchases requirements, reviewing the procurement provision, stock –holding and stock control policies on a progressive basis and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business related from a recognised institution
• Post Graduate diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management
• At least five (5) years working experience in relevant field, three (3) of which should be in management level.
5. LEGAL ASSISTANT (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Legal Officer; the Legal Assistant will be undertaking research on prefeasibility study, developing legal and regulatory framework for generation of Nuclear Electricity, providing Company secretarial services and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognised institution.
• An advocate of the High Court of Kenya
• Post graduate Diploma in Law
• Member of Law Society of Kenya
• At least one (1) year working experience in relevant field
• Sound and current knowledge of ICT
6. ASSISTANT OFFICER ICT (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principle System Administrator, the Assistant Officer ICT will be undertaking maintenance in the system, networks and application performance, implementing It policies and procedures and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
• Certificate in Computer programming
• Experience in window server 2008
• Web programming(HTML, CGS, PHP, Java Script)
• Knowledge of Photo/Video editing software, computer Aided Diagram Software
• At least one (1) year working experience in relevant field
7. AUDIT ASSISTANT (1 POST)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Internal Auditor; the Audit Assistant will assisting in implementing internal controls ,audit policies and procedures, developing audit plans and schedules, preparing audit reports and performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
• KCSE C
• CPA II or equivalent
• IT skills with working knowledge of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS)
• At least one (1) year working experience in relevant field
