The Chief of Party (COP) will have overall responsibility for the management of all project activities and staff. You will have principal responsibility for representation for the projects to the United States Government (USG), and will serve as representative of the project and will be responsible for the activities and all long-term and short-term personnel under this grant. With a keen understanding of the unique political dynamics, you will work carefully and collaboratively to support the various political entities in (country of the grant). You will effectively manage available financial and human resources to make that vision a reality with the embraced shared USG vision for the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Strengthen the national Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) response through systems strengthening at the central level.
• Responsible for the activities and representation of the project to the US Government.
• Management of technical assistance teams.
• Promote coordination and harmonized planning and implementation of OVC services of key ministries.
• Strengthening existing government and community OVC structures; bolstering social welfare human resources; and enhancing the policy and regulatory environment for OVC.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE: • Senior manager with a Master’s degree in social sciences, public health or other relevant professional and advanced degree.
• The proposed Chief of Party must have at least ten years of experience in public health, including at least three years of experience in social welfare and HIV/AIDS systems strengthening.
• In addition, a minimum of five years experience as a country/project director in a public health and/or international development project.
• Proven ability to manage technical assistance teams.
