The Restaurant Cashier reports to the Restaurant Manager
Job Summary
The Restaurant cashier is responsible for cash collections for all services rendered to clients in the Restaurant according to the laid down Financial Policy & Procedure Manual of the YWCA.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives money and issue receipts to all clients in the restaurant.
- Ensures all services rendered to clients in the restaurant are paid for and receipted.
- Prepares banking summary on daily basis for income received in the restaurant.
- Makes intact daily banking to the Main cashier.
- Make petty cash payments and ensures their accountability as per the Financial Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Maintains the Restaurant petty system.
- Maintains and update on daily basis the Pastel Accounting System
- Any other duty as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Competence
- CPA PART 1
- At least 2 years working experience
- Basic understanding of Accounting processing and double entry.
- Ability to plan and organize work on daily basis
- Good knowledge of Pastel Accounting system.
- Good communication and Reporting Skills
- Computer literate.

The Internal Auditor is responsible for planning and executing financial and operational audits for the YWCA of Kenya.
Core Duties &Responsibilities
- Evaluates and provides reasonable assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning as intended and will enable the organization’s objectives and goals to be met.
- Coordinates the organization internal audit at all levels and follow up on issues raised.
- Report risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to National General Secretary and Audit committee and provide recommendations for improving the organization’s operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance.
- Evaluates information security and associated risk exposures.
- Evaluates regulatory compliance program with consultation from the legal counsel.
- Evaluates the organization readiness in case of business interruption.
- Maintain open communication with management and audit committee.
- Ascertain the extent to which the system of internal control ensures compliance with the YWCA of Kenya policies and procedures.
- Ascertain that the systems of internal control promote the efficient and effective use of resources.
- Monitor the progress of management action plans arising from external audits.
- Assist in the development or enhancement of sound business practices and strategies.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, experience and Competencies
- CPA Part 3
- Bachelor‘s degree in financial disciplines.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years full time working experience as an internal auditor.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Good analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Using non-financial evaluation methods in internal audit work;
- Communication/presentation skills (listening, oral, interpersonal, awareness of audience)
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Intermediate knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles (ie. The Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing)
- Develops practical, effective, and cost-competitive strategies and solutions to problems.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (ie. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook), use of Internet
- Proven ability to work independently without extensive supervision.

The Systems Accountant is responsible for the management of computerized accounting systems for the YWCA of Kenya.
To ensure computerized accounting systems are running smoothly for timely and accurate reporting at all levels.

- To ensure computerized accounting systems are running smoothly for timely and accurate reporting at all levels.
- Ensure that end users are timely supported.
- Investigate the causes of systems inadequacies.
- Provide training in the use of system to the key stakeholders.
- Collection of data, analyzing the information, and reporting to the management.
- Maintaining and improving control procedures.
- Cost analysis to reduce expenses of the company.
- Provide major upgrades to the financial management information system.
- Review systems audit trail.
- Process payments, invoices and monthly bank reconciliation for the organization.
- Maintain and improve control processes over reconciliations, reporting, operational and other risks.
- Instrumental in reducing reporting timelines and improving monthly and year end reporting.
- Ensures that the Accounting policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Preparing quarterly financial statements.
- Preparation of end year financial statements of YWCA Kenya.
- Ensure that all financial records are well maintained.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications, experience and Competencies
- CPA Part 2
- Bachelor‘s degree in financial disciplines will be added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years experience in accounting knowledge and application
- Good understanding of accounting processing and double entry.
- Ability to plan, organize and review the work of lower level accountant.
- Ability to explain systems and procedures to others in a clear and concise manner.
- Good knowledge in IT especially in accounting systems.
- Good support knowledge in pastel.
- Good communication and writing skills.

- Committed Christian of 25 years and above
- Excellent working knowledge of Micro soft Office.
- Self motivated, honest and Team leader.
- Sound character and good interpersonal skills
